Endless - MUD Description | |
We are in a world where anything can, does and will happen, but a world with certain underlying laws that make it all work. It is a world in which cosmic concepts most complete walk the streets; old gods work at Starbucks to make the rent; Robin Goodfellow was last seen heading for Vegas with a pocketful of leaves and a grin on his face. This is a world of magic, mystery, oddity. Dream broods in his castle; and so, a few odd dreams may well have slipped free and gone roving. Destiny sits in his garden, reading; and so, a few more people find their lives taking strange and twisted turns. Desire reminds the sky what it is like to sing, cradled in its own broken heart; and so, a few dying gods go walking, one last time. Go outside. Look at the sky, the ground, the joggers, until you find something beautiful that you didn't know was there. It doesn't have to be a good beauty -- even terror is beautiful -- but it's there, waiting for you. The cat with the rattlesnake in her jaws. The small jeweled toad by the mailbox. The mystery meeting with the mundane. Found it? Good. Welcome to _The Sandman_. --paraphrased from 'news intro' Endless is a non-World of Darkness urban fantasy game, set in a fictional suburb of Los Angeles. It is open-themed, but not unstructured: the possible character concepts are nearly limitless, but we require post-chargen approval and screen for theme-appropriateness. The game is consent-based, with sufficient but not omnipresent code, and a small, dedicated staff that endeavors to be approachable. We are very much in the market for new players; Endless is a young game, and still struggling to get over the hump. We're also looking for tinyplotters, or even people with a few spare story seeds they're willing to share. Everyone is welcome; advance familiarity with the comic book on which the game is based is by no means a requirement. |
