| Blood Bonds has an underlying theme of BDSM, set over the landscape of the world of Avendor, on which two kingdoms have risen to prominence, the Arabic flavored Sultanate of Saalih Tariq, and the European-flavored kingdom of Thalas. These two lands have very differing cultures and beliefs, and as such they have ever been at odds for the last 2 centuries. Recently though, incidents have occurred which actually have them on the brink of war. The death of a king, the facts pointing to the rival kingdom as the suspect, and a rash of slave thefts from both lands has the whole area around the Everanth Sea on the verge of bloody combat! This diversified theme has the intent of providing players a choice of two very different views on BDSM. One kingdom treats their slaves cruelly, the other pampers them. One sees women as the lessers of men, the other as equals. Each place has its own special flavors of culture and belief, so that players may choose the one that makes them feel most comfortable. |
