Drachen MUSH - MUD Description | |
Drachen is a game about many things, but at its core it's about love and revenge. Love for a distant mother that most Dragonfolk never knew and revenge upon those that took her away from them. Jealous of the power Tiamat and Apsu had as parents of all the Gods, one of the children slew Apsu in an attempt to steal his power. Tiamat was enraged and threw her dead lover's body into the Void, forever removing him from the usurping children. Until that time, all Gods who died became a part of their father Apsu once more until he spawned them again. Now there would be no afterlife for those who conspired to kill the one that made them. The Gods no longer had souls. While a few of the Gods were horrified at Apsu's death and understood Tiamat's anger, most quickly came to hate her for her deed. A war quickly ensued and Tiamat created children by herself, great dragons - Dragonfolk - to defend her against the Gods. These dragons would come to be known as the Grand Fathers by the Dragonfolk and served their mother loyally, but in the end they could not save her. Marduke, Champion of the Gods killed Tiamat and made two Worlds from her body - Terra and Etheria - and made creatures called Men from her blood and allowed them to live on those Worlds, walking on the very body of the fallen Dragon Queen. This, perhaps, was the greatest insult of all. In this act, however, the Gods had made a mistake. Since they did not know the location of the Void, they could not truly destroy her. Unlike the Gods, the Dragonfolk had souls and could reunite with their lost mother upon death. They were, in a sense, immortal. The Grand Fathers of the Dragonfolk created children of their own - Broods of dragons to help carry on the war after Tiamat's death - and the battle has raged ever since. |
