Dragons of Exile - MUD Description | |
Dragons of Exile is an established MUD with a small unique player playerbase. DoE is currently running a heavily modified SMAUG 1.0 which was privately released to us before SMAUG's initial release. We highly encourage roleplay, but understand when you're in a hack and slash mode. This mud is rated PG because at times there are players who break our profanity rules, and some descriptions may be too graphically violent for all ages. For a new player, it may look like our world has more stock to it than I claimed, however, ours is stock in the same way RoD (SMAUG's main implementation) is stock. One of our builders built an area or two that are shipped in the stock SMAUG distribution. Additionally, we maintain (at this time) the stock starting point to allow for some familiarity to new characters. Our new areas are all outside of Darkhaven. At DoE we very much value the opinion of every player. As such, the typo, bug, and idea logs are checked multiple times per day, and changes are fixed, or ideas given feedback on, within a very short amount of time. Our 'registration' is a very simple one. While in the 'pre-authorization' area, your name must be approved before you can enter the game fully. We feel that this keeps out names which distract from a good roleplay enviornment. During the summer of 2002 a new head coder was hired and many old minor issues (there were no major ones) with Dragons of Exile were repaired. Additionally, many new things were installed, and many more are in the development or planning stages.
