crashes
Hey,
I run a ROM 2.4B6 and my mobs like to crash the mud if its going to be killed. Anyone know why typing kill <mob name> crashes the mud? |

Re: crashes
Use gdb to get a backtrace to see why.

Re: crashes
It could be a conflict somewhere with in your MUD's programing.
If backtraces don't work, you need to go through the entire program just to root it out. which is no fun at all. Darren Brimhall |

Re: crashes
Is this a vanilla copy of Rom 2.4b6?
If not did you use snippets and patches, make your own changes, or some combination thereof? Does it crash immediately or does it freeze for a bit and then crash? Is it a real crash or does the game just freeze? If a crash, what kind of crash? (what signal # or crash dialog message do you get?) What line does it crash on? Does anything interesting show up in the log output? Does every mob crash when attacked, or just some of them? Does every attacking char cause a crash, or just certain races/classes? |

Re: crashes
no hesitation whats so ever if the mob is flagged cat or song bird and a pc tries to kill it insta crash so far everything else lets the fight go on.
Out of all the mobs out there in the city those two crash the mud. And this isnt vanilla we have modified it and made our own changes and a combo of snippets. |

Re: crashes
Fixed. The issue was solved and the builder was told how to keep the system from crashing. Thank you
On another subject. Anyone have a timer countdown for copyover? I looked around cant locate one. I am basically looking for this: Type copyover gecho Copyover in 5 counts down to 1 and then automatically does the copyover. Last edited by terraco : 08-25-2011 at 02:21 AM. |

Re: crashes
I don't know where to find one. Can the system be instructed to perfrom a copy after a certain date automaticly, as opposed to manually? It shouldn't take too much coding to do. Darren Brimhall |
