Hai
Hello, I'm pretty much completely new to MUDding, having only started Aardwolf last week, but enjoying it alot more than the graphic game(s) I just quit.

Re: Hai
Welcome. It's great to hear from people who are new to mudding.
Several things I'm curious about that I think would be helpful to our community to know. If you mind answering any or all of these, feel free not to * How did you find out about Aardwolf? * How hard were your first 15 minutes of mudding? What helped you get beyond them? * How old are you, approximately? * If you are in your mid-20's at least, did you play a MUD briefly in the past? The age questions come from my observations that a lot of new mudders come from a pool of late-20's to 30's people who played briefly in the past, enough to know what a MUD is, but then went on to 3D adventures. I'm in my mid-30's myself, a pretty typical age in this community, I believe. |

Re: Hai
I heard about Aardwolf from a guy who was giving a suggestion for an MMO i was playing 9There he called himself The_Piper, if any of you recognise the name); They shot down the idea, but since i was looking to take a break from the standard Online Multiplayer game, i decided to have a shot at it.
The first 15 minutes wasnt that difficult; i never played a MUD before, but have played many other games and used to figuring out controls pretty quickly. That combined with Aardwolf's huge helpfile library and newbie channel helpers made it a pleasant introduction. Became 16 last month; I read RetroGamer magazine and have been meaning to try text adventures or graphics adventures. Since im not 20, the last question doesn't seem to apply, but i guess i can expand on past Multiplayer games i played; I played a 2004 MMO on Linux for last 7 years, on and off (only started it 2006). I tried Zork & some much more basic text adventures about 2-3 years ago. My brother tried the Discworld MUD several years ago. Thats basically my Online World experience |
