The Year 400 celebrations in Achaea have concluded, and the Year 400 Champion has emerged!

In the world of Achaea, every 50 in-game years (600 days in real time) is held a festive 12.5-day celebration. Revelries reign throughout the realm, and many contests for prizes are run, the most important being the Championship Games. There are five major Championship Games with points given to top scorers in each, and the overall high scorer at the end is named the Champion and wins a grand prize.

The prize varies from year to year. This year, the Champion has won an Xbox 360 (to be shipped as soon as they become available in the States) plus in-game credits valued at $300 USD! Congratulations to our player Reiye, who placed 1st in two of the Championship Games and 3rd in another to attain this victory. The Staff of Nicator, a legendary in-game artefact traditionally passed down from Champion to Champion, was gifted unto her as well.

Other prizes worth thousands of dollars in total (including a Sony PSP, in-game merchandise, and credits) were given away to many dozens of players over the course of the last two weeks! The festivities included a huge lottery, combat tournaments, treasure hunts, races, quizzes, riddles, games of chance, and more. The worst thing about Year 400, as one of our players has put it, is that "it's over."

But there are less than 600 days till we try to outdo ourselves with the Year 450 celebrations! Hope to see you there.

PS. You can peek at the schedule of events we held .

Is it bad that I remember the Y200 celebrations?

I have to say, one thing that was pretty cool about the person who won is that she has never spent a dime on Achaea and yet managed to win a number of the Year 400 events and, of course, the overall events.

The person who won the Year 400 Lottery, with the grand prize being a Sony PSP as well as $300 worth of credits, was also a pretty much unknown player who beat out older players who purchased literally hundreds and hundreds of tickets. Beginner's luck!
