...in 2008.

That's right! On June 28, 2008, we'll mark the 10th anniversary of the MUSH by closing it down.

Until then, we're going to concentrate our efforts on sharing a bunch of fun stories with our players as we tie up the remaining loose ends in the first of the jointhesaga.com sagas.

That's sad to hear. I really like the idea and story behind OS (I bought the e-book and loved it) I'm just not crazy about the implementation. I hope everyone whose ever wanted to check it out does, and I hope to see OS books from now and beyond 2008.

I'm guessing the last storyarc will be heavily involved with the OS/Chia crossover? Afraid I haven't played either in awhile, but they're great games. Can't wait to see your new creation.

Here's where the other shoe drops:

Although OtherSpace as we know it will close on June 28, 2008, it is my intention to open a new game set in the OtherSpace universe on or about that date.

During the next two years, I'll oversee development of the new game, which will combine lessons I've learned working on the original OtherSpace, Chiaroscuro and Necromundus.

It'll offer all kinds of RP opportunities, but it'll also feature trade, crafting, quests and automated monster combat.

Most of the groundwork for the coded systems we'll be using are already in place on the existing games. What's left to be done is content. What kind of content are we likely to see? Well, imagine the prospects of life in the OtherSpace galaxy in the next millennium. The 41st Century, most likely. We find old familiar worlds with new dilemmas and new worlds facing old familiar crises. Travel through the Multiverse Nexus is commonplace, allowing the mingling of new alien races and old. Players will be able to climb Valsho Peak or go on safari on Nalhom. They'll be able to build their own starships, craft their own weapons and haul cargo among the stars.

Stay tuned!

Damn, that sounds pretty cool.
