Re: Drinking yerba mate
I had to look up exactly what yerba mate was, and it looks like it's just a tea.
What are your thoughts in why it would turn an ordinary RP experience (if there are any!) into an extraordinary one? Just wanting to get on the same page before attempting to discuss. |

Re: Drinking yerba mate
I'll shamelessly quote from wikipedia:
I admit I like it. It'd be interesting in an IC sense to somehow share an OOC ritual, I agree. |

Re: Drinking yerba mate
Well, I know a lot of people listen to specific music while roleplaying, and we even tested out sound effects for parts of our mud. It seemed to really make people enjoy things.
So, I will totally agree that stimulating other senses while roleplaying can enhance the feelings generated by the experience. You'll have to let us know how it goes. |

Re: Drinking yerba mate
Yerba, schmerba.
Dr. Pepper and Nacho Cheese Doritos. They are a staple for builders and players. Dr. Pepper has enough caffeine to make grinding away at mobs seem interesting, and the dual benefit of cheesy chips is that it gives you an excuse to take breaks for long-forgotten chores, like peeing, and at the same time, encouraging you to wash your hands -before-. A tertiary benefit can be derived when no online clock is available. Accurate measurements of the thickness of pseudo-cheese residue on oft-used keys is a reliable earmark for length of play time. |
