a non-munchkin
hello.
i'm a beginner. my total mud playtime so far is about 1 hour. i have however played paper&pencil rpgs. i want to know if there are some storytelling muds out there, that is, focused on the plot and characters and not on xp hoarding? |

Well i know one.
You can try Helliconia. 9000 It's quite interesting mud with nice quest RP based system. XP don't means much. |

Hey there. I would go for a MUSH if you are seeking mostly storytelling and away from combat or adventuring styles. If you are seriously into roleplay, plots, and also want to adventure, combat, and start with a very user friendly system, drop by . You will learn how to use the system in creation and we have a great staff to assist you.

Re: a non-munchkin
The roleplay-intensive games like
Shadows of Isildur (), Harshlands (), Atonement (in alpha still, I believe) () and of course the one I'm from, Armageddon () are all pretty heavily focused around plots of varying scales - between your character and him/herself, between your character and other characters and between your character and the world around him/her. In all of these games there is some element of gaining skill and becoming good at combat, crafting, etc, but there are various plots/storylines to jump into. That's by no means a complete list; there are a lot of intensive roleplay games out there, but those are the four I'm most familiar with. |
