Moderation Options
After a minor altercation recently I had the incentive to investigate the options a moderator of a forum has. Normally it's not an issue as the standard range of options is available, however I've noted that I can find no way of splitting or moving topics. Am I just missing the relevant bit on the screen or is it just not available? Admittedly it's rarely an issue, but it's nice to have there when you need it. Might also be nice to have an option when deleting posts to delete them completely rather than leaving stubs as this makes a thread somewhat messy as I recently found out to my cost.

Re: Moderation Options
One useful tool with better oversight potential than deletion would just be the ability to move posts (moderators can move threads, but only from the forums level) combined with a moderators-only forum. This way, anything removed is available for later review (either for that post, or to see if a particular poster has a pattern), and can be moved back in case of an error or change of heart.

Re: Moderation Options
That may actually be an option Lasher has to activate for us, by putting mods into a special group with those abilities.

Re: Moderation Options
I think a moderators-only forum would be beneficial, in any event, for discussing things like moderator behavior to avoid public sniping and second-guessing of fellow moderators.

While we're at it: Aside from memory and/or trial/error, how can we tell what forums we moderate?

Are you kidding? This is the most amusement TMS has provided in *months*. Vote NO for the modboard! -Crat |

:P
I, for one, don't really care for the feeding frenzy approach to amusing people. Not a very productive way to keep moderators. |

Re: Moderation Options
Heading out for the day now, but let me create a test moderator when I get back and see what options are available / need adding. I thought you already had a move post option, obviously not...

Re: Moderation Options
There's a Forum Leaders link at the bottom of the front page of the forum, and when you're in a particular section it has the names of the moderators at the bottom of the thread list in a box on the right.
