| It has been twenty-three years since the Rebel Alliance, with the help of many heroic men and women, were able to destroy the first Deathstar at the Battle of Yavin. Since then, the galaxy has seen much. The Republic has been reborn from the old Rebel Alliance and now operates from the grand cityscape of Coruscant. Luke Skywalker has begun a new Jedi Order and established the Jedi Academy in an ancient Sith temple on Yavin IV. There have been several incarnations of the old Galactic Empire, one of which destroyed several planets including Byss, although, most of the Imperial Remnant has been dead for a decade now. Peace has been experienced in increasingly larger portions lately, which for a generation of war-hardened people is an ill omen. It is also a time of rebirth for the Force, pumping out more than the normal amount of Force-sensitive beings, as it is recovering from the Great Jedi Purge lead by the Galactic Empire and Darth Vader half a century earlier. In time it will balance again, as it was in the era of the Old Republic. The Republic continues to restore its old territories and forge new alliances while the Jedi continue to search out and train the Force-sensitive children, creating an all-new Jedi Order unlike anything seen before. In Imperial space, however, a new threat is spawning. Several of the leading Imperials are planning their plot to return the Empire to power under a new Emperor. A Dark Jedi named Brakiss has constructed a Shadow Academy, under Imperial instruction, in order to turn Jedis from the Light and train them for the Dark Side. Will the new enemies prove too strong for the Republic? Is there a more terrible force lurking in the background? Only time will tell... |
