| Vendain is a world of high fantasy. Our ever-evolving world offers many paths of life: the studied magics of the elementalist, necromancer or sorceror, the mind-probing psionics of the focus, the divining wisdom of the prophet, the ferocious combat of the fighters and samurai, the stealthy life of a rogue or ninja, or the peaceful trade of a fishing, crafting, forging or trading merchant. We offer 13 classes and various multiclasses, over 200 spells (some hidden), an abundance of quests and combat verbs, and much more on the way. Our combat system is advanced giving you the option of an automated que or a "choose as you go" style, entering one of many combat verbs based on your weapons weight and other effects. You even have the option of setting your character's defenses and offenses as you please. Vendain in no way requires all of its classes to engage in combat, many enjoy peaceful trades without the threat of a sword. You will find a large range of skills, some including: fishing, blade attack, chain defense, mining, astral magic, anatomy, and many more. Our enhanced quest system allows even the newest newbie to participate in mind-boggling situations for some extra cash, or basic equipment. Roleplaying is enforced and our gods are a major part of it. We strive for realism but put a spin on it as our gods have been know to walk the earth and interact with their subjects. Character creation is quick and simple and gives you plenty of time to choose a class. The character sign-up/registration is free, no need to e-mail us or wait days for a response. Our web server will have your character available instantly. Another advantage to this is that you will have access to several web features, such as creating a history and/or biography for your player online. Vendain has been in development since April of 1998, but has opened for players in July of 2000. For players who are used to their own colour systems, Vendain's colour and commands can be customized to your needs. We understand that people play MUDs because they want to have fun, so at Vendain that is what we want to give you... pure, plain, enjoyable fun.
